Notes
- Read Though Instructions first and then begin. Comment below with any questions π
- The Bee is worked in a continuous round, do not join or turn unless otherwise stated. I recommend using a stitch marker on the first sc of the second round, or stringing a different color of yarn there so you can remember when you finished working a round.
- We will be using the sliding loop technique aka slipknot for circle ring aka magic ring.Β Check out my Blog Post on how to do this:
Bee
COLOR A. Stuff as you go. Begin with sliding loop. Ch 1.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in ring. (pull tail of yarn) (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each of next 6 sc. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, rep from * 5 more times. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, rep from * 5 more times. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, rep from * 5 more times. (30 sc)
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 4 sc, rep from * 5 more times. (36 sc)
Rnd 7: 1 sc in each of next 36 sc. (36 sc)
Rnd 8: *1 sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog, rep from * 5 more times. (30 sc)
Rnd 9: *1 sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog, rep from * 5 more times. (24 sc)
Rnd 10: 1 sc in each of next 24 sc. (24 sc) Place Safety eyes between Rnds 6 β 7, 5 sts apart.
Rnd 11: *1 sc in each of next 2 sc, sc2tog, rep from * 5 more times. (18 sc)
Rnd 12: *1 sc in next sc, sc2tog, rep from * 5 more times. (12 sc) Add Stuffing.
Rnd 13: *sc2tog, rep from * 5 more times. (6 sc)
Rnd 14: 2 sc in each of next 6 sc. (12 sc) Switch to color B In Last st.
Rnd 15: 1 sc in each of next 12 sc. (12 sc) Switch to color A In last st.
Rnd 16: 1 sc in each of next 12 sc. (12 sc) Switch to color B In last st.
Rnd 17: 1 sc in each of next 12 sc. (12 sc) Switch to color A In last st. Finish stuffing firmly.
Rnd 18: *sc2tog, rep from * 5 more times, Sl st to first sc. (6 sc) Fasten off. Leave a long tail of yarn and with the yarn needle, weave in and out of the 6 stitches left, and close the Body. Weave in ends.
Wings (Make 2)
Join color C In Rnd 14, once when Bee is standing up right (In 11th st), and for the other Wing when Bee is upside down (In 4th st).
Row 1: ch 3, (1 dc, 1 hdc, Sl st) In same sp. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Mouth
With red embroidery thread, embroider a side smile on the Bee diagonally, on Rnd 9, under the Eye.
Antennas
With color B, pull a 6 inch piece of yarn through Rnd 2 of the Head, make a knot at the end of the two threads, hide the knot under the sts, now make another knot in the middle, so the Antenna will look attached.
Now you can make him as a key chain, or hang him as a mobile or anything else you can think of. π
Have fun with your O-SO-CUTE new toy!
